The Venue

South of Munich, the capital of Bavaria, there are many lakes – mostly souvenirs of the Ice Age: Ammersee is one of them. It is surrounded by nice villages, such as Herrsching or Andechs with its famous monastery. The Conference venue is about a 50 minutes’ train ride from Munich centre.

Small castle at the lakeside

Just like SDB Day 2018, the Water Days was hosted at the “Kurparkschlösschen” – a charming small castle in Herrsching on Ammersee. The castle is located directly at the lakeside, offering a stunning view on the Bavarian water as well as the Alps that rise south of it.

How to get there

Herrsching is in the south-west of Munich. It is the final station of the S-8, a regional train with direct connection to Munich Central Station and Munich Airport every 20 minutes. From the city centre, the S-Bahn takes 50 mins., and from Herrsching train station, it is a 10-minutes walk to the conference venue. – Find out more on the train service here.

By car, you can reach Herrsching via the A96 motorway, exit “Weßling / Oberpfaffenhofen”.
